Creative title for Romeo + Juliet review? For a writing assignment (essay) in my english class, I have to write a review for the 1996 movie version of Romeo and Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Claire Danes. Any creative titles you'd like to suggest?
Which Romeo and Juliet do you like best? The one made in 1996 or the one made in 1968? I used to like the newer one the best (the one with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes) then I liked the older one. I'm a major Shakespeare nerd, but now that I've seen both many times, I like the newer one the best. It's more up in your face, more action, and I can related to it better. Also, I LOVE Baz Lahrman (the director of Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge) and I love Red Curtain directing. It's really trippy. He's Red Curtain trilogy was amazing. I like the newer one the best.
I have ten questions about your opinions of Romeo and Juliet, just for fun. Would anyone like to answer? 1. Do you think you will/did you enjoy reading Romeo and Juliet? 2. Who is/are your favorite character(s)? 3. Who is/are your LEAST favorite character(s)? 4. What is/are your favorite scene(s)? 5. What is/are your favorite quote(s)? 6. If you had to act out the play, which part would you WANT, and what scene would you be looking forward to the MOST? 7. What scene would you be looking forward to the LEAST? 8. Which part would you NOT want to play? 9. Were you happy with the way the play ended? 10. What do you think of the Romeo and Juliet movie ("William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet"), the one starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, that's set in the modern world, but they still use the Shakespearean English? 1. I haven't read the whole play, but I like it so far. 2. My favorite characters are Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, and Benvolio. 3. My least favorite characters are Tybalt, Old Capulet, Old Montague, Lady Capulet, and Lady Montague. 4. My favorite scene is the balcony scene. 5.My favorite quotes are: "What's in a name? That which we call a rose, By any other word would smell as sweet." ~Juliet Act II, Scene II. "Love goes toward love, as schoolboys from their books, But love from love, toward school with heavy looks." ~Romeo, Act II, Scene II. 6. I would want to be Juliet, and I would be looking forward to the kissing scene the most. 7. I would be looking the least forward to the balcony scene (even though that's my favorite scene) because I'm a little bit scared of heights. 8. I wouldn't want to be Tybalt, because he's one of my least favorite characters, and he dies at the beginning. 9. I wasn't happy with the end. They shouldn't have died. 10. Stupid.
What are the things called and they look like fences on the sides of houses, and they have ivy growing up them They have it in Romeo and Juliet (the modern version with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes) in the pool scene. Romeo is shown climbing up it.

What did you think of the Romeo+Juliet movie? Not the original, the one with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. What did you like? What didn't you like? Do you think it did a good job at representing such a classic ? i loved it too, for the record i'm in love with leo. aha. that's not why i like it though. i actually loved how they mixed up the modern day without changing Shakespeare's legendary lines. I do agree that it helps with interpreting the play, though I never had much difficulty I just found it so awesome to see it on screen. I love the original too, though. I do prefer this version more though. for the record, yes this is my homework you snooty girl. but, i've already finished my essay, I just wanted to see if my opinions matched your own. nothing wrong with that. Why did they replace the balcony scene with the swimming pool scene? Was it purely for better screen effects? Thank you!

can someone plz help me edit my review? (easy 10 points ;))? Romeo and Juliet 1.Taking the measure of an unmade grave 2.One plus one equals everything, and two minus one equals nothing (which one sounds better?) This classical tragedy is every literacy lover’s dream come true and will leave you mesmerized, begging at the edge of your seat for more. Admittedly we’ve all tossed aside old movies, classifying them under the same category, out-dated, you’d expect blurry graphics and poor acting however Romeo + Juliet has by far exceeded these poor expectations. Through Baz Luhrmann’s amazing directing, he transformed the simple dialogue of Romeo and Juliet into a glamorous, modern day film. Like many of his other masterpieces including Australia, Romeo + Juliet can be regarded as a movie which will definitely leave a mark in the entertainment industry. Although I found the Shakespearian language used in this film difficult to understand, this made movie no less entertaining. The leading casts Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes who starred as Romeo and Juliet had outstanding acting skills and made decoding this foreign-like language that much easier for me. While there were several factors which differed the book from the movie, Luhrmann did his best to incorporate Shakespearian styles into this creative movie. This was evident in Luhrmann’s choice of settings. For example when Romeo enters the Roman-style tomb, it was brightly illuminated by colourful lights. This clash between these two opposing styles was effectively used in Luhrmann’s movie. Through this technique he made his film appear high-tech yet at the same time it was like watching a movie about a completely different century. In addition the diverse range of different music genres, from cowboy to classical also contributed to how the audience felt. In comparison to the text, the movie delivered a much more vibrant and bolder vision to the audience. Luhrmann’s wide range of fantastic film techniques significantly impacted how we depict each scene. The director used several different shots including Birdseye view which was often used during transitions. In particular, he was used a lot of close ups to provide the viewers with a better view of the character’s feelings or to show the significance of an object. I already knew beforehand how the movie would end even so, this movie left me tossing and turning in anxiety for Romeo and Juliet near the conclusion. I’ve never watched a movie where I felt so emotionally attached to the characters and I would definitely recommend this genuinely touching movie, "For never was a story of more woe, than this of Juliet and her Romeo." Word count: 398 the review has to be 400 words (with a 10% exception) p.s. we need to talk about film techniques and compare it to another film also we need to compare it to the original script The movie was the one made in 1996
Which Version of "I'm Kissing You" is Better? Beyonce or Des'ree? "I'm Kissing You" from the Motion Picture Soundtrack of Romeo & Juliet, starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Claire Danes. Beyonce just remade the song for the re-release of her B-Day Album.....and I think it Sucks!! What about you?

Does anyone know the name of the song? At the end of Romeo and Juliet? The one starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. Its a sad sounding song with a really slow beat. Kind of sounds like Radiohead but I'm not sure... and I'm not talking about that one song that is featured IN the movie, I mean the one that is playing at the end credits. Does anyone know it?

What about you guys? Which movie is your favourite, and which girl do you think is better? Thanks for your opinions!:)
What other movies are out there that are similar to or as good as "Flyboys" with James Franco? That movie was AMAZING. I really liked it! I enjoy war movies like that (not because of the war) but because it's historical, and the cute guys don't hurt, lol. So, any similar movies that are really good? :) Oh, and love romances to; like Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Dane
what is the song title? that the little boy is singing in leonardo dicaprio and claire danes Romeo and Juliet as they are getting married??? it starts out " brother and sister to gether we'll make it through... Some day the spirit will take you and guid you there... I know you've been hurting and i'll be there for you... " anyone please??
how to change this sentence? While the acting of stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes is solid, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo and Juliet is the kind of movie you will try every way possible to get out of your head because of the complete 180˚ Baz Luhrmann made from the book to the movie, and the inappropriate modernization of a classic novel. how do i make that sentence not seem like such a fragment ((for all i know...it is a fragment)) while keeping it one sentence and not chopping off the main points:: good acting by dicaprio and claire danes bad modernization the huge difference between the book and movie of R & J-->BAD
should i see midsummer nights dream? well im 15, at school ive studied Romeo and Juliet, Richard III and i will soon be starting on an essay for Othello, theres a performance at my local theatre of a Midsummer Nights Dream, now my question is really do you think i will be able to keep up with whats happening or will the shakespearian dialogue be hard to understand, i found with Othello i can finally start to read it through and understand what theyre saying without having to look over parts again, ive never seen a shakespeare play performed, the closest ive come to is the 1996 version of Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes which i could keep up with ok, but that was really because i had studied the script at school, should i read through the script for midsummer nights dream? oh and its just amdram, not west end stuff or anything so it shouldnt cost much in case i cant understand a word
Whats your favourite SHAKESPEARE? Wondering what your favourite shakespeare play is. Mine is Romeo and Juliet, just couldnt get the play out of my head ever since i read it. The movie remake of it with Leonardo Dicaprio and Claire Danes was a AMAZING FILM. 10/10 I know when i read it with my class in highschool I skipped half the book and had nightmares about it. But now im reading other shakespeare books and find it that romeo and juliet was the most interesting in my opinion.
Awesome movie death scenes? what are the best movie death scenes youve seen? The saddest, grossest, scariest or most rightous etc.. Such as; Billy Wirth's death scene in The lost bys, when corey haim shoots him with an arrow into the stereo. Then he screaches and explodes. OR Romeo and Juliets' deaths in Romeo + Juliet. When leonardo dicaprio takes poison on Claire Danes death bed not knowing shes only sleeping, one second later she wakes up, she then watches romeo die from the poison and takes his gun and shoots herself in the head. OR Nicole Kidman's death in Moulin Rouge. When Ewan Mcgregor and her sing a song together and decide they want to be together. She then dies minutes after the curtain drops of tuberculosis in Ewan's arms. OR In disturbing behaviour when the janitor kills all the hypnotized students, aka "the blue ribbons", by driving his car off a cliff with all of them holding onto the car. (these are random but good death scenes :)) *try to give detail with your scene
what did people think of...? claire danes (juliet) leonardo dicaprio (romeo) harrold perrieau (mercutio) John Leguzamo (tybalt) permofmances in Romeo and Juliet? x
Need the name of a song/artist? In the 1996 version of Romeo and Juliet (with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio), there's an opera sounding song that I really liked. I don't know the name or the artist. All I know is that Kip Kinkle had the song playing when the cops discovered he had killed his parents. The song is not listed on the soundtrack.
Please can you help!? I have a fancy dress party to go to and I wanted to go with my partner as the Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet when Juliet's family were hosting the fancy dress party! Thank you xx

I need help really bad please help me!!!!? In this module, you read Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Through your reading, you were introduced to literary elements of drama, to tragedies, and to tragic themes. After reading the play, you can acknowledge Shakespeare’s skillful writing. However, since plays are written to be performed, you may not fully appreciate Shakespeare’s work unless you see it performed. For this assignment, you will watch a movie version of Romeo and Juliet. Choose one of the following: • the 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Franco Zeffirelli, starring Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting. This version uses the original dialogue in a traditional setting • the 1996 film version of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Baz Luhrmann, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. This version is modernized although it still uses the original dialogue As you watch the film, take notes on the various elements of drama that were discussed throughout the module. Look for specific examples that illustrate dramatic elements and devices. After watching your chosen film, write an essay that discusses how various literary elements made the transition to the screen production. In your essay, do each of the following: • Discuss three specific dramatic elements and devices. • Compare the story’s presentation in the film to what you read in the play. • Support your ideas with specific examples. • Write your own critique or evaluation of the film by answering these questions: o Do you feel the film was true to Shakespeare’s written words? o Did the film enhance your understanding of the play? o What did you like best about the film? o Did you prefer the written work or the film? Explain. I've never watched the movie, and I can't find it anywhere. My assignment is due tomorrow, please help me! I really want a good grade so I can't get a bad grade on this. Don't do all the work. Please just help me understand it give some examples and help. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!

Good song for walking down the aisle? What are some good songs to walk down the aisle to? I am Jewish so I don't want a Christian or gospels song. I also don't want a very religious song. I would prefer something more contemporary. I was thinking of the instrumental version of "Kissing you" It was in the Romeo & Juliet w/ Claire Danes & Leonardo Dicaprio when they meet in the bathroom at the party. Tell me what you think or if you have other suggestions
